Arthroscopic repair of the medial retinaculum in acute patellar dislocations

Abstract

|
We performed an arthroscopically assisted repair of the medial retinaculum and capsule in some different method to the previously published Yamamoto`s method(1986)in acute patellar dislocations. We operated 2 cases with no previous history of
patellar
instability and with history of documented lateral dislocation accompanied by an acute hemarthrosis.
One year follow up on these two patients revealed excellent results of treatment with no redislocation. This technique provides early accurate diagnosis and, thus, early accurate restoration of normal anatomy.
